What color curtains?

I'm living in a very small house with not lots of light coming in. Unfortunatly my walls have a light lilac-grey color, I didn't know I picked a lilac color untill it was too late and I hate it, but I'm stuck with it. The floor is grey wood and most of the furniture and other colors in the room are: dark wood/brown, black and gold.These curtains make me feel like I'm living in an easter egg and I would like something more matching and calming. But I'm really bad at this and I don't want to buy the wrong ones. Can anyone help me with this?They used to be only for decoration but the roll curtain broke and I can't get a new one for this size so that's why I have been using them closed aswell
Edit: the photo didn't upload, the ones I have now are a light textured color. Really light yellowisch. They seem more yellow with the light coming in

Hi Angel, a photo will help as pretty difficult to imagine a colour just by the description. You can add photos in the comments. Depending on your budget, Dunelm and Next sell an excellent range of ready made curtains, so worth a look online. You say the roller blind is broken so I think it’s worth looking at Blinds2Go online who do made to measure blinds at a very good price.

Hello, If I was you I would pick some light colour. With the grey you have you could get curtain in yellow, light blue, dusty pink. Why not mix and match colours? If you have some decoration or ornaments in your favourite colours, you could get your curtain in the same one. I have pale grey walls too. I decided I didn't want the curtains to be a feature or stand out, particularly when they are open, so we opted to go with a colour similar to the walls but a slightly textured fabric. Good luck!

Fair enough! If it's dark then I'd go fairly light on the curtains. A pale green would look nice with the floor and walls and then you could get a sofa in a grey a shade or 2 darker than the walls and introduce another colour for cushions etc. Duck egg is also pretty much a neutral colour so would work. Or stick to the same shade as the walls or one darker. Perhaps think about getting a large mirror to bounce more light. Is that an extending curtain pole as it could go a little wider so as not to block light with the curtains?

Hi there, As others suggest, what about mustard? This picture shows blue walls and a pop of yellow for the chair and it really makes the room sing. Alternatively, why not run with your idea of a soft grey? This picture pulls together lots of colours you've already got going on - the red in your sofa will work well. You could always layer Roman blinds and curtains together as pictured to soften the overall effect. Best of luck with your project, Zoe

O god I think it worked after 20 tries. This is it now .. curtains closed. I'm a single mom who just lost her job so right now I don't have money for a size made roller blind. But I am looking for some help in finding the right color curtains for the room. I was thinking about: a brown color, but I think it would have to match the furniture or it would look weird.. or a light brown perhaps.. or full white but somehow I am scared that will look clinical ór a greyish look to match the floor wich might look and match good but I'm afraid it will make the room more gloomy and

Are the walls beige? If so then get beige/taupe curtains. I wouldn’t go for brown as it will be light sapping at night. If you get curtains with a blackout lining inside, you probably won’t need the blind. A place for really budget curtains is The Range, if it is open, or try your Facebook reuse/recycling pages. On my local Reuse site people can request items for free which is a real help for people who’ve lost their jobs or furloughed. It’s amazing how many people will help out. if you have no other major colours in the room why not go for a nice pattern? could bring all the neutrals together and make the lilcay walls look purposeful?

Wel thanks but I really like calmness and not too much paterns. Plus I really hate the lilac so I don't want to bring it more
