We don't have any information on the wall unit or furniture, just the floors. Sorry!

I install home automation equipment and lighting controls. I don't have a TV in the house : ) I do though, have a projector with a retractable screen. This has totally changed the way we watch TV. We only watch what we want to - which is mainly programs recorded via Youview or films. When the projector isn't on, the screen is out of sight in the ceiling and the room is setup for more social activities. Personally, I couldn't be without the radio. We have speakers in every room for this and music in general. Upstairs this is done with inceiling speakers so again, it is a discrete system.

In the middle of a long drawn out revamp, coffee table relegated to the tip, it absence planned to last unsuitable within the new decor. But I missed it.!!!! And needs must. I discovered that using our old, 'long tall Sally' wooden stool was actually great for my coffee cup and nibbles. Matter of fact it looks rather cool. So I'm on the look out for a twin for my next project. Just need to decide what colour to paint them.

Hi. Thanks a lot for all your precious feedback, I found all hints very useful. This is mine to yours: 1) Sitting down on my sofa I would be 3.5/4 meters far from the TV, so the experience would not be immersive like I wish (I like watching movies in the evening when not out). There is a return policy I can use if too big so I can eventually scale down to 55. The living room is small but not too much and the TV is one of the modern thin ones with nice frames that become a paintings when not in use... let’s see!😂 2) I like the fireplace as decoration, I have a nice plant there.. I would be sorry to loose it, furthermore if I move the TV there then it would cover partially the wall and the mirror. I decided to move the mirror to hang the TV instead and create more space and have a rid of the TV bench. 3) The alcove on the right is too small unfortunately, it would be my favourite place🙈 I would not be able to add neither a 20 inches...so it’s like not having it because not functional. Despite almost all voted to align using the wall (2) I think that, when looking at the wall, what catches the eye more is the dark/black area of the TV and the fireplace, therefore I think these two elements should be align. I was thinking of compensating the left side with a falling plant (or something else) from a new shelf at the top like the two pictures above. What do you think?

Oh I like your yellow sofa, the shape is really classic. I also like the fabric. It sits well in your space. I would look for an antique or vintage piece for your TV. Can I ask, does the TV need to be in this room? So many lovely features in there, to have a TV somehow seems a shame. We have a similar room here and have kept it as a sitting room/dining space, with a TV room separately. You could have a wonderful drawing room with a large mirror above the fire, persian rug, antique tables with lamps on. Would be wonderful. Will dig out pics
