Does it come in all black or only silver frame. Also is there an option for a pull out tray?

Hi, this particular unit comes in the stainless steel finish on the front. The carcass and glass can be different colours. We don't have a roll out option but something could potentially be added aftermarket on runners. It has electrical sockets in the back wall so is great for keeping small appliances off the worktop.

Paint the inside bricks white, defo to disguise the boxes - it will also look wider. Don't go too dark on that lovely wooden door - it is a really nice door so I am wondering if it could be stripped to its natural colour instead (but that might cost more). You could just paint your tiles - maybe a slate colour, but with a very strong floor tile paint... personally, I think you might like your floor tiles once the brickwork has been painted. Re the porch, again it might be worth stripping it back to wood and then just oiling it - or paint it white also, it will look fresh but poss a bit garish in white. Get rid of the moss on the roof of the porch - it keeps it damp and detracts from your lovely porch (which is nice... you should see mine! also on Houzz).

You could always have two pieces of plain glass installed and then spray them with glass paint. Rust Oleum do a good range. Alternatively, the multitude of firms that make glass splashbacks use toughened glass, which could be suitable for a front door. You could choose one of the colours that is already in your stained glass panel that you have and have two panels made up to compliment. You are best to approach a window firm and ask their advice, because you don't want to risk having glass that is easy to break and therefore leave yourself open to burglary. That is, unfortunately why lots of people used the wire. As when the glass is broken, you can't put your hand through and undo the door!

We would always recommend replacing original doors with timber. It would be a shame to lose the authentic look and although UPVC composite doors are much better than they used to be they still don't look like real wood. Our wood doors have the same multi point locking system as a UPVC door for high security and the U-Value (insulation) is the same. No cold drafts with our doors. Also with our Teknos paint finish you can match it to any colour you want. Farrow & Ball french grey is very popular at the moment. We recently did this custom door with bespoke stained glass. The client wanted the glass to replicate the original stained glass but wanted new seals etc so we re-designed the glazing for them and they matched the sage green paint that they had used around their home. I hope you manage to persuade your partner to either keep the original door or replace it with wood. Good Luck!

You could put in stained glass of some type or perhaps a traditional etched glass or sandblasted design . The benefit of stained glass is it that it adds colour to the inside and lights up like a lantern when it is dark. You can still have a panel you can see through if you wanted. I would recommend getting both the window and the doorway done to complement one another, as that would be really lovely from both the inside and the outside. Your entrance seems fairly exposed as it is, so another alternative would be to fit a secondary door internally to your hallway with an obscure glass treatment that would give you privacy. Veronica
