Kitchen Cabinet Bar Pulls for Modern Kitchen
Hi, I wanted to get advice on whether cabinet hardware should be the same size in a modern kitchen or should I be using rule of thumb to select kitchen cabinet handles 1/3 width of the cabinet? Does that rule apply to a full length cabinet that runs from the floor to the ceiling drop? What size is generally the most practical in bar pulls in a modern kitchen?

2 years agoWhen I had my kitchen redone, prior to choosing hardware for the door cabinets and drawers, I took blue painters tape and did a mock up on the cabinets to see how different sized hardware would look. I wanted the simple Shaker cabinets to be the star, so I chose very simple and understated hardware. Trust your aesthetics. My very experienced carpenter, and husband, were also helpful with my hardware decision. Best of luck in your journey❣️

Comments (24)I agree made.com is a good option, both for table/chairs and for a corner sofa which is the style I'd go for - modern, good way to 'zone' space, neat and comfy. Comments (10)It really depends on the budget you have and how much work you want to do. If you cant change the kitchen itself then consider painting the units in a white or grey and change the handles. The light can change for a more modern pendant or two. Loose the old fashioned window dressing and change for a more modern roller blind. The glass isn't really very modern or asked for much in kitchen units anymore so you could also buy some frosted looking sticker to go on the inside to blend it a little more and keep it more modern looking. You may need to consider the tiles which again depends on budget. The best option is to replace it for a more modern tile or splash back but if budget is very tight then there are some great quality tile plaints out there which can give a great look if it is done well. I hope that gives you some ideas but I think people really need a little more information on what you are looking for and what budget you may have. Comments (4)Hi. There are loads of inspirational images on Houzz. I would start by piling through the kitchen pics and adding to an idea book anything you like. I am sure on a quick analysis of the idea-book afterwards it will become apparent the look/style you like and if integrated or American style FF are seen in those particular photos/kitchens :) Ultimately I think it depends on the look you're going for and how the space will work for you. 2 years agolast modified: 2 years agoIMO never 2 pulls on a drawer and I like pulls done to be in proportion to the cabinet or drawer I also think you need to really think about function and sometimes some pulls mounter vertical and some horizontal works.. I use the stainless pulls from Lee Valley they come in a great size range and stand up well , look great and function well. This is my kitchen with the pulls all in proportion to the cabinets and drawers and as you see some are in vertical and some horizontal . I usually use painters tape to figure out the size and the direction it takes quite a long time to do this but well worth it. BTW a single pull on darwer looks better and for sure functions better
