What era is this furniture please

Hi,
I have 2 of these glass fronted sliding door wall cabinets in my garage that I want to take down and sell. Not sure what to list them as....does anyone know what decade these were made or what their function/style was called.

They look 1950s from the cream colour to the sliding doors. Hard to guess usage as I’m not sure how big they are, but they do look like some kind of kitchen unit.

Ah yes? Very simular to these kitchen wall units, thank you. They were left behind in garage when we moved here, I wonder if they're hung upside down? Ha ha. Will market them as 50s and hope to find them a new home. Thanks.

HI i would say 50's and very in at the moment anything thats quite retro and vintage is very on trend. Not everyones taste, I would definitely ebay them or offer them to a vintage shop. My daughters own a vintage shop and sell these things all the time in east london.

Hi Katie. I do like the furniture you've chosen, as I said previously I would personally struggle to arrange furniture on a flat ŵall without corners, alcoves etc! I think it might be an idea to create a new post so others may be encouraged to respond without reading through previous comments. It may potentially work if you were to move the tv unit to the right. Have a floor lamp to the left of the unit and the chair angled in front of the lamp. Perhaps have a long piece of art or set of 2/3 to the right of the tv with maybe a plant stand or something and then the chinese cabinet. Do play around with the height of things though. I know you've looked before but I really think you need an area rug to zone the living space. Re kitchen not sure of your current thoughts but have you thought of a peninsular coming off that right ŵall within the kitchen? If you were to move the dining table perhaps a couple of accent chairs and table for the bay to keep your husband happy?!

Yes, it's a complete nightmare! Thank you both for replying. We have tried dividing the room with the large sofa, where the smaller armchair is, and the TV used to be on the patterned wall. The smaller armchair went where the TV is. Whatvwe found was that there wasn't much space between the two chairs to get in and out of the kitchen - the chairs are both very deep so they really come into the room . when the chair was where the TV is I always felt like I was missing something that was going on behind me - that sounds silly, I know!! I love the idea of zoning with a rug and a coffee table would be so handy - currently we have to twist right round to reach the tables on either side of the sofa. If you'd have a writing desk where the TV currently is, what would you do with the armchair? At the moment it feels like there are two chunks of wasted space on either side of the big sofa. Yes, yes, yes to the yellow and grey! I love your photos, and it would really lift the dark wallpaper. I bought the cushions for Christmas 2015 and didn't change them afterwards, so a fresh look is long overdue! Thank you again for your ideas, feel free to throw more suggestions around - I'll try anything!

It's a tough one, leather may be a safer option. What do you think of this rug with it, might also go nicely with the first rust stool I posted (the stool also comes with black legs)? West elm have a sale on ATM, think it's 20% off if you spend £500 and 30% off > £1000 so might be worth a look, not sure when the sale ends as it's been on a few days
