Furniture Layout

I'm looking for some help. Next year we are hoping to start our extension work, however we are uncertain how to layout the furniture in the new lounge that will be looking out on to the garden. Any help or ideas would be greatful. We have discussed to reduce the sliding doors internally but like the open plan feeling but it's just as important to be able to close this off when my partner is cooking so the kids are not running through.
