where can I find 14.5cm x 59cm laminate?

Can anyone suggest a supplier of laminate with boards measuring 14.5x59cm? It seems like a non-standard measurement, which I can’t find anywhere.

There is existing laminate throughout my flat, with the exception of one room which we want to match with the rest of the house.

Dear Wombatchild The two double ovens are on that back wall. The distance from them to the end of the island is 2.6 mtrs. The bank of units is mirror imaged from the centre of the ovens and that means there are two slim pull out larder cupboards on that wall. That 2.6m means that they can be pulled out and it is still no problem for traffic to be flowing past. My hob is on the island itself and the extractor comes up through the granite when in use. That far end of the island is great for taking things out of the oven and checking on food ...... turning potatoes over etc... To the left of that bank of units is a door to my boot room so I need walk way space there. This thread is quite old now and I may be repeating something I typed earlier but I love my kitchen ( think it is about six years since I had it out in) ..... The only things I would have done differently would have been not to have stainless steel sinks as they are a devil to keep looking nice! And I would like more contemporary pendant lights over the island instead of those chrome chandeliers - can change them but still working on husband on that point!!!! X

I would say that sample two is better but only because it is a warmer toned wood. To be honest I don't think that either of them go. The laminate you have chosen is cold and contemporary where as oak is warm in tone and stereo-typically traditional. I have to agree with "Man around the house" maple or walnut would be a better match, although sticking to oak may work best. Either way, I hope you find the right floor for your kitchen!

Daisy England - I like your suggestion for the corner. If i understand correctly if I made this change then the length of units where the hob is would remain unchanged (or would i need to find an extra 5mm?) and along the sink run I would have a 45mm unit and a further 55mm to use somehow. Just trying to imagine how this would work with the above units. I'm loathe to ask magnet to amend the plan again particularly based on Jonathan's latest comment. Jonathan - I'd feel a bit of a traitor going elsewhere especially as the designer i have been working with has been so helpful. As it stands (which is far too much) i have been quoted just over £16,500 for the kitchen and utility using in the kitchen their highest spec units ID3 and planar doors and in the utility lower spec Luna units and ready built cabinets. Worktops are the top end luxury laminate with splash backs for wall area, or if I were to have quartz it would be about £21,500. We spec'd high knowing we could make cost savings by changing cabinet types. It also includes an AEG integrated hood, Electrolux Integrated hood, Warming drawer, Full Height Fridge, Full Height Freezer, Dishwasher, 5 Ceramic Hob, Combi Microwave and 2 Single ovens. Franke sinks and taps. I have no idea if this is a reasonable price but nevertheless it needs to be cheaper. In view of this would German engineered kitchen still be an option in your opinion? The other issue (which I've only really just realised as we had been concentrating on the layout) is that their colour choice for handless is limited.

So sorry Daisy English is not impressed with Howdens, I purchased my kitchen from them in Bolton and could not be more pleased. I downsized from a large house with solid oak kitchen units and marble worktops (which after time do stain, whatever anyone tells you) and moved into a much smaller property. With the help of the designer at Howdens she and I designed a kitchen more suitable for my needs, all the units are just to my taste and the appliances are excellent even the oven cleans itself, everything is in there, dishwasher, fridge freezer, washing machine, microwave, second oven, pan drawers, pull out pantry, hob, and extractor fan and sooooo important wine rack, streamlined and so easy to keep clean. Incidentally I have no connection with Howdens, just a satisfied customer!
