Who makes these floor lamps and can I get spares?

Hello

I bought one of these a while ago.

It was working fine until we moved house and lost a key bit - the bit that connects the bulb to the lamp. I am keen to get a replacement part but haven't been able to work out who the manufacturer is. Can anyone help. It's not an Anglepoise.

Hi. If you can sew I would make your own curtains, rather than cream I would go for white and silver grey. The other option is to buy some cheap ready made curtains and either add borders in a luxury fabric or add something like a Pom pom trim etc. I would probably stop buying bits until you've sat down and looked at schemes you like. Once you've done that then make up a mood board so you can see how it all ties together. It just means you won't waste money on buying stuff you don't like. I would also look at trying to create a focal point as you don't have a fire, this could be art or a mirror over a cabinet for example. Or hang your tv above a console and add art around it.The biggest change for me atm would be to add cushions to lighten the sofa up though. I would also keep an eye on ebay, antique shops, country house auctions etc for maybe a replacement desk and a coffee table. Adding a lamp will add cosiness. I saw this fab light at george of asda the other day for £20. No idea what it looks like in the flesh but looks nice online!

I'm typing with my laptop on a single bed/pouffe which I use as a coffee table with slip proof black waiters tray on when people come over. Re throws, you could fold them over an arm so they're handy when you want to snuggle up. Personally I literally 'THROW' mine and see where they land!!! I agree with everything Minnie says - as always, she's a wise and clever lady - and I would pull the corner sofa away from the back wall to just the other side of the bit of wall that juts out. Then you have the perfect space for an amazing lamp. Look at Wayfair or Not On The High Street as well as, of course, Houzz, under the lighting section. The other chair could be placed to face the garden as a reading chair if it doesn't obstruct your TV viewing, but I'd try it anyway as, if it looks good, the TV can be moved. Not sure if the TV is on a wall bracket but it might be worth doing that. Cushions with the same colours as the wall art would be good. I have a number of CYGNUS PAPILIO cushions by JOSEPH ALEXANDER GOODE. They also do bedding now so, if you're handy with a sewing machine, you could make a few cushion covers from one single duvet. It's a lovely room!

On the floorboard topic. We did in fact in one of our houses lay new 'reclaimed boards' over the top of the existing and put a membrane underneath to stop the drafts. You can also employ a carpenter to put slivers in the gaps and fill, this will work well, especially if you plan to paint the boards. I personally prefer carpets in bedrooms and floorboards downstairs just for comfort and of course heat loss especially if you plan to keep the original windows. Looking forwards:- When you come to re-sell, a sympathetic set of double glazed windows will in my opinion leave the value the same if not more than original single glazed, after all it's not a listed building. Energy reports are important and single glazed etc just won't perform well in those circumstances. Bed:- I'd go for a cast iron, victorian if we're going period sympathetic, they have the added advantage of creating the illusion of space in smaller rooms as you can obviously see under them and they don't block floor space.

I'd make a list, what I like, what I dont, Then live in it for 6 months and keep revising the list - it will help prioritise and crystalise what really matters. No harm inside the 6 months planning/selecting colours/kitchen units etc etc - but don't pull the trigger on a job until you lived in it for a bit. Front door into a bedroom does seem odd.. but its a flat now not a house. Also - seek out some plans of the original layout - they probably worked out the best arrangement back in the day when it was built, knock on neighbours doors even and have a nose - in a 'meet people' sort of way?
