side return extension -permission for doors/windows

Hi all, does anyone know if a side door is permitted on a side return extension? Id like to do an extension to join the exterior wall of the current playroom (it will become a utility so not concerned about light) but as you can see from the floor plans, we have a back door at the end of our hallway and I’d ideally like to push that out too (handy back door to let the dogs straight into the utility!) I’m pretty sure we’d have to have skylights as we wouldn’t be allowed windows along the new external wall, but I don’t know about a back door?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
