Comments (6)Having done exactly that as a job for my wife when she ran Bagpuss Antiques Furniture Restoration, i can tell you that if you were to go down to two drawers, then the job is not as complicated as you many think. Yes, it involves taking the top and bottom away and re-finishing the edges ( hard to tell what the finish is in the pics ), Then re-assembling it and finishing to match. That would have been around the £160-£200 mark. However if you want it custom fitting to go into the alcove without any gaps, then the middle drawer would be the best one to change the size of, that would involve a further £40-60. So, hope that gives you a good idea of price. I still make furniture for customers as we continue to get enquiries as there just aren't many people around doing that sort of thing anymore, however, a carpenter would be able to help you most probably, it's just finishing to match that requires a bit of all round knowledge....See MoreHelp with side tables and curtains

Comments (13)Oh I like your yellow sofa, the shape is really classic. I also like the fabric. It sits well in your space. I would look for an antique or vintage piece for your TV. Can I ask, does the TV need to be in this room? So many lovely features in there, to have a TV somehow seems a shame. We have a similar room here and have kept it as a sitting room/dining space, with a TV room separately. You could have a wonderful drawing room with a large mirror above the fire, persian rug, antique tables with lamps on. Would be wonderful. Will dig out pics...See MoreHelp matching the TV unit to coffee table
Comments (3)I think the one with metal legs would be best. You could use a rug to help break up the "too much wood" look....See MoreMairead Moloney
