would love to know the name of this Backsplash and island granite

Redoing our kitchen in Idaho and am trying to find a nice backsplash and counter/island combo. This works beautifully! I’d be so grateful to know the names thankyou

Thank you for asking about this beautiful kitchen. The countertop on the perimeter is a quartz by Cosmos "Silt." The island countertop is granite "White Orion." The backsplash is a glass tile: Astoria Flute Herringbone "Bergamot" by Sonoma.

Hi Cesca, as your kitchen is quite dark I would go for white cupboards and natural wood worktops, something like your table and chairs. This I would live without changing as I think they looks very nice. I would move the table 50cm from the kitchen cabinets and put some nice carpet just under the table and the chairs to make the space warmer and more cozy. I would paint the walls with light green and add some colourful details. White ir light grey curtains would also make your kitchen look special. If one day you decide to change the floor go for natural wood.

Just to update the situation. John came today, he seems OK and honest to us. He said he suggested me chasing Kenny. He knows Kenny quite well that I need to get him to finish his job or refund my money. Tomorrow my husband will drop by his warehouse and I told him to tell Kenny if I don't hear from him. I will contact him through the lawyer. I also bought the stuffs you showed me from that site together with oil stain remover. I need Kenny to fix the part at the hob. He needs to remove that out and replace with the one that from the same slab or lighter tone. John also confirmed to me my granite is not sealed at all!!! Not weak seal but not seal and he told me Kenny knows this and it is his job to do.

I would live in it for a while and try to put things where you will want to keep them and then give it some thought. For example, where the current cooker/hob is, there is not much worktop space for putting down hot things and it looks a little closed in with the upper cupboards - you may want to remove these. You may not know how you will manage with a single oven until you try. Looking at the first image, I would consider removing all of the upper cupboards and block of storage on the left wall where the fridge is. I like the idea of an island on legs as it would not look too heavy and could be in a contrasting colour. Will you be keeping the integrated fridge freezer of do you have an American style one? We lived with our truly vile early nineties kitchen for a year which was awful but it enable us to really understand how to design our new one. Good luck.

Hi, Gillian, If you have the 300-400mm recommended above there is no reason not to have the seating area but yes, you would pretty much lose access to the drawer. You could replace the existing drawer/cupboard combination with just cupboards, if that is a possibility for you, that way you would get all the storage and could use it for items you don't need to get at very often. It's all a balance; how much you would gain by having the seating, vs losing the drawer (or having to re-do the drawer/cupboard combination).
