Painting fitted wardrobes?
Comments (62)Hello fhparis I painted my 1980's fitted dark brown wardrobes a year ago. I was able to remove a shelf which i used to practice on and to get an idea of the finish i could achieve. Or indeed if i could do it. Your wardrobes are lighter in colour which is a plus. I mentioned the products i used in an earlier post. Dont underestimate how long it will take to do. I think i applied 3 undercoats and at least 3 top coats. It was well worth the effort and cost a fraction of buying new wardrobes. The pics show 2 sets of painted wardrobes. Best of luck with your project...See More3 bed + bathroom downstairs or 2 bed + bathroom upstairs?
Comments (22)Front hallway- I say save your money leave it up. Cost of removal is minor but you will likely have to move radiators and electrics and make good plasterwork and coving- I say protect another £1500 profit. Present the larger back reception as a living room and present the front reception as the dining room. Given that the bathroom is likely to go upstairs make the downstairs bathroom into a room to access the garden- I would present the kitchen as a kitchen/breakfast room with doors to see the garden as being able to see from the front door to the back garden should pay dividend....See MoreFitted wardrobes
Comments (15)I think the problem is the shelves also date it. Hard to tell from the pic but they don't look that easy to remove. If the bridging unit isn't removed having single wardrobes may also look a little odd. If you're keen to keep it I have seen them updated by using a feature wallpaper behind the bed, will see if I can find pics. Having the unit painted in the wall colour will also help it blend...See MoreAre Ikea PAX really 'fitted wardrobes'? Recommendations please...
Comments (22)Bespoke joinery is always better to achieve maximum of storage from space you got. However with PAX there is option to match up for saving cost, however you are limited to size, if you got 190cm you need to fit 150cm and have covering panels. We did in few houses to get lower cost build in units, that we put it in PAX wardrobes and we made bespoke side panels and framing, skirting so when you close them it looks like bespoke, where inside is still IKEA....See MoreMel Williams
