Paint Design Dilemma Bathrooms

Paint colour for grey tiles in bathroom

Hi there everyne, complete design novice here after some advice please. Photo is of our newly installed bathroom tiles, they look quite grey once in - what colour paint would you suggest would complement them / warm them up?

Looks like there are two tones of grey swirling around there, so you could take either one and try on a large piece of paper/card to see how it looks before you paint fully.

They look more beige in the photo? I would go with a soft white. I also wonder if a dusky pink would also go?

Hi there, We have an assortment of floor tiles that you could choose from! I'd recommend any colour that's darker than the wall tiles, as it should mean you won't find yourself constantly worrying about cleaning up after yourself.

Hi Michael, Sorry, but I have to partially disagree with you on this, daylight colour temperature is 6500K not 4000K. Yes, 4000K is warmer than 6500K but it does not give a truer representation of colour. Colour representation is measured using the colour rendering index or CRI. The closer to 100, the closer to daylight. The Megaman LEDs are 80 CRI for each of the colour temperatures. That said, the 4000K fitting will produce a brighter and cleaner feel to the room. However, it can look too harsh at night. 2700K is closer to traditional halogen fittings. It can look duller during the day, but looks a lot more welcoming in the evening - perfect for a soak in the bath. It comes down to personal preference in the end

If the space is small then I think you should keep to one type of tile for the floors and walls. If you don’t tile one wall make sure you tile up that wall a skirting board height (tricks your eye into thinking the floor is bigger). Don’t worry about tiling behind the wc, you can access the workings of the cistern through the removable flush plate- I had to completely replace the flushing mechanism in one of mine and it was only a 10 minute job despite feeling like it was keyhole surgery! Your new bathroom is going to look great! We love your tile selection. If you are going to tile the wall in the darker tile, then we suggest to tile the floor in the lighter grey-but same tile style. Just to give it some contrast. And since we have noticed you have blonde hair, lighter colour on the floor will be much more grateful, otherwise, every single hair will show ;) And also, have you considered half way wall tiling and then paint in a cream colour? That would look very elegant and would feel a bit more cosy, instead of going all grey. Good luck!

I would suggest a soft pink too, think plaster! Or a soft sage green would look great too.

Thanks everyone, I can totally see why you’re saying soft pink / plaster but this is our only bathroom and the rest of my family are male - I wouldn’t be popular!! Plus I don’t really like pink myself 😊

I like the sage green idea but have a feeling we might end up with a warm white
