Kitchen / Living room Design Dilema
Comments (9)There's always other options ! Here's another idea... A. Seating area - pair of sofas and coffee table. B. Extending dining table - turn 90 degrees to extend. C. Family size over depth USA FF. D. Slim storage cabinets - could be midi height or tall - to house extra fold up chairs for when dining table extended and, in future, a place for kids toys. E. Island and kitchen straight run. Dependent on plumbing and extraction for a ceiling hood, could have either sink or hob on island if you fancy. F. Full depth cleaning cupboard for vacuum and mop etc. G.WM and TD space with shelving either side for folded washing and hanging rail for shirts etc - ie a proper laundry room . NB if not on a party wall - vented TD would be great ! Hope this gives you food for thought . Kind regards, Karen OnePlan [ marketing note - this is an example of the sketch consult service OnePlan provide... We happily provided this for free to this Houzzer, on this occasion . Normal rates would be £35 p/h. Full CAD images available too, at either an hourly rate or fixed room rate. We are freelance concept planners, selling only design !]...See MoreKitchen flooring dilema
Comments (13)I wouldn’t go for polished tiles - nightmare to keep clean (apparently) according to a couple I met who don’t even have kids or a dog to encourage the muck Love the wood effect flooring with your room and it really would warm it all up. I presume it’s the vinyl tiles you are looking at rather than a large tool of vinyl? Lots of people on here have both UFH with the vinyl tiles and say it’s great! Bear in mind that the vinyl will be warmer to touch in winter and summer than any tiles without the UFH on - so that’s worth considering in case you are like us and don’t have the heating on 24/7...See Morekitchen rug dilema
Comments (4)I Wouldn't have a rug in my kitchen, I always trip over a rug, kids too and my kids spill stuff everywhere so it couldn't stay clean. Ud sort the backsplash first, then decide on rug. Silly as it sounds, the pic on my phone looks like you have a backsplash behind the hob! The colour goes really well too....See MoreCan I paint my kitchen walls the same colour as the kitchen cabinets
Comments (7)You are more than welcome Teresa, glad I can help. I can now completely understand why changing the panels would be a real hassle - it would essentially be taking the kitchen apart and reinstalling. As the panels are Wenge effect then painting will not be an issue at all. Just make sure you give them a good clean and wipe over with sugar soap before applying any primer/light sanding. If you are struggling to get a good colour match to the doors - it might be worth hunting down a company that specialises in paint colour matching. Explain to them that you are looking to paint end panels I'm assuming they are laminated/MFC and they should be able to guide you on what base would be best as well as the prep work involved to make sure the panels are as hardwearing as they can be. I think a pop of pink would be fabulous! That's the beauty of making the kitchen your own and adding colour with accessories - you can have what you love and if you change your mind years down the line you won't have to redo the whole kitchen. What sort of pink are you thinking? Do you have any artwork in the kitchen that has a small amount of pink that you could tie in? With the colour palette you have any kind of pink would work well in there, from a nice dusty rose, blush pink to a hot pink (if you are daring enough). If you need any help with sourcing or suppliers for splashbacks please let me now. Kind regards, Charlie Covey Kitchens www.coveykitchens.co.uk...See More88wj88
