House plant position and dining table lighting

My beloved bird of paradise has pride of place in my open plan living space. I want to introduce some overhead lighting for the dining table but can't figure out what to do with it, the plant is already taking up quite a bit of room as it is but this seems to be the best place for it.

But if you noticed my dry kitchen and table bar countertop is all black.. What I think here, I can't used a same pendant design or black color anymore on my dining table because I need to make it contrast so my friends and guest will only keep staring on that position which is my dining table pendant.. I'm not sure whether I'm right or wrong I am not a Profesional Interior Designer, I'm Profesional Make Up Artist so thats why I need to find a Pro to help me out in my interior.. Comments (8)Hi Lovely - I always think of lighting as an opportunity to bring on statement lighting and create ambience. If you like/love the lighting by all means go for it! It does depend on the size of your dining table obviously the bigger or longer dining table the more space you have for your lighting. You may want to think about how much lighting you need above the dining table as well. If you prefer it on the brighter side then you'd need a pendants/chandelier with more light bulbs.
