Gorgeous! What are the dimensions of the bathroom and the shower?

I am impressed with the efficient use of space. Where is the sink located?

Hi Sylvia,

Yes, this was a very challenging one — the room is only 1.16m wide x 2.27m deep, though we were able to kick out and steal a little bit from the adjacent utility closet to get in a vanity with a more generous and deliberate feel. Otherwise we would have had to put the vanity next to WC and move the door opening.

I should add:

Often, during the works you see it take shape and decide to make small revisions.

Originally we intended to have a glass door enclosure to the shower, as you'll see in the drawings, but once the tiles went in (wet room style) we decided that with the micro-cement walls and wet room flooring, maybe let's just ditch that glass door that segments the room ...it wasn't needed. We tested the rainfall shower for splash radius, and decided just to do a small fixed glass panel (instead of a full glass wall with shower door segmenting the room).

Obobble and Suzanne C, thanks for the comments. I think the idea of putting the shower and toilet along the right hand wall is a good idea. Do you think there would be room if I put the vanity unit parallel on the opposite left hand wall, rather than underneath the window? (Sorry I like the idea of having a mirror in front of me rather than the window obobble!) Also what do people think are comfortable dimensions for a spacious walk in shower? If I put the shower in the back right hand corner then I’m not tied so much by the width of the window I think as it won’t jut up next to it? Ie it could be wider that 76.5cm?

You can get trays that can be cut to size that would fit the space perfectly, a company we use is called fiora https://fiora.es/en/home/ you can then just add a glass panel and leave yourself with a 550mm/650mm space to walk in. Alternatively you would have to go for a 1700 enclosure but not to waste space you could stud the wall out and create some recesses in a stud wall behind. I hope that makes sense.

Options then would be:- putting them on the shorter wall opposite the sink: 800 wide shower (or 700) but 1m length coming out into the room as the entry door is offset. That gives a good sized shower. Then you have 1m tub space to play with for a deep tub. Then I would put the WC and sink on the other short wall so entry into the tub isn’t hindered. 1200 or 1300 tub on the 2m back wall with an 800 or 700 wide corner shower. Actually you could potentially have it so the wc is far left back wall with 1500 bath opposite the door and then a corner shower far right side. It’s all a bit cramped though with a standard or even small sized tub so do consider a shower over bath. You can get short rise baths if it’s an issue with getting in/out that’s the issue. Also shower baths with 800 shower area if it’s shower experience

Many thanks for the comments and suggestions. Regarding the toilet, we really don't need one as we have one separate in the room next door. It is also more convenient with the kids as one can be in the bathroom while the other uses the toilet. Having had more play with the designer tool, I came up with 2 others options. Note, that we only have 85cm each side of the window so if the shower is towards the external wall, it is limited to 800. v3 - in this one, the shower is 800x1000. Could potentially have built-in storage at the foot of the bath. My main concern is that the shower is quite small and it creates a corridor effect between the door and the shower. v4 - in this one, shower is still narrower but must longer at 800x1200 and bathtub is 1700. I also was able to put some cabinets for storage/towels - but not sure if it is very accessible (does it need to be?) It feels a bit busy and I would have love to give the kids a bigger shower (as they are growing) but not possible with the window location. We are thinking that version 4 is probably the best option at the moment. any suggestions? Many thanks
