Unsure which walls to feature in my unsymmetrical living room :-(
Comments (13)Thank you guys for suggestions - I like the idea of coloured blinds in the windows Pat Oliver designs - trouble is, we are quite close to the road hence why we chose in the end the wooden Venetian blinds for privacy - although with the wall colour they make everything look orange (the colour on walls is "hot sand" by homebase but is more orangy than I had hoped :-( Its very hard to know what colour to paint the room with the biscuit carpet, and natural wood...I can't really change too much as we don't have a budget. I was hoping to get the look and definition I wanted by paint/paper...but might speak to my hubby to see if we could get some more shelving. Minnie - yes good idea about putting back a little of the wall - I was thinking the same myself - although there is only one door to the room and it is smack bang in the middle on opposite wall which makes things more complicated. :-( I imagine it would be expensive though as you say. I have been trying to find pics of rooms with 2 chimney breasts myself so if you do find some, please can you post them for me as I would love to see them. Thank you both again for your comments xx...See MoreUnsure of which colour worktops for kitchen?
Comments (9)Hi Charlotte, I'd echo everyone's thoughts and say go for accessories. It's really easy to mix it up that way, and things like tea and coffee caddies and tea towels are fairly inexpensive to do so. At the window, a made-to-measure blind would really help too. Practical solutions for kitchens include Roller and Vertical blinds, as well as Fauxwood options. Good luck with your new project, Zoe...See More9 months into reno - Unsure about kitchen layout. Comments (7)We are considering scrapping the idea of having an island with just worktops either side and wall cabinets where needed. We also thought of having the dining table in the conservatory and create a utility room and WC where the dining table is now but we really want opening living throughout and don't want to break the front room away from the rest of the space. Tryphic - Thanks for your suggestions. I will look at working out our needs. Steven - We were planning a down draft extractor to a filter for the hob. Gabby - Thanks for your suggestions. OnePlan - Thanks for your suggestions. I love the idea of coffee and tea in a unit! Plumbing on the island and left side are very difficult due to location of drains outside. Jonathan - Thanks for your suggestions. I love the plan you made. Unfortunately due to drainage, we can't have the sink on the left side. I will definitely have to consider the quiet appliances as you suggested....See MoreUnsure about layout of Bedroom/Ensuite/Wardrobe
