Maybe curtains won't work after all if my bed is pushed up against the window! If I didn't choose curtains, what else could I put there? Curtains are so soft, glamorous & romantic. Blinds seem to be a bit boring and un-luxurious. I love interior shutters as well, but they cost a bomb! I was also thinking I could maybe add a canopy for my bed? Perhaps via a thin wire attached to my ceiling, if that makes sense? And only put the curtain/canopy along the bottom and right side of my bed... Then I could draw the canopy across at night to separate the sleeping space but I could leave the curtains/canopy open to let sunlight in via the windows. Would that look ok (esp. as the bed is against a window?) Any thoughts of what to use for my window? Thanks xxx

I would put a filing cabinet style unit facing into the space. You can then either fill it with things for the office - desk space or clothes if required. It would work because it is easier to access by pulling the usable space forward in the form of drawers rather than having to lean into the space. If you have the fund available then you can have made (or DIY) the drawers at the size that works for you. Good luck.

Danielle H - The artwork came from home sense. An impulse buy which really probably doesnt link but I just loved them so bought them! Now wondering about putting them elsewhere as worried it's all just a great big mess that will make my visitors get a headache :-). I'm still defo wanting to paper tho... might move the strip a bit further along to get the feel. And I'm still tidying up a bit to get a pic ;o)

Any ideas? I’m decorating the room today and removing the furniture. It’s the ideal chance to rearrange the items when they come back into the room. I think at a bare minimum I need to lose my current bedside table and replace it with 2 slimmer tables. I just need to make sure there is enough space to walk around the bed as the column radiator has a 6cm width and a width of 15cm away from the window wall.
