Hello Springes, Firstly I rather like the pure style as per your image, think this could be fantastic with a dark colour.. charcoal, deep navy, greens, greys and very matt! I think if you can put the dual fuel range within the chimney recess then do... You may be able to hide the extractor inside as a concealed option.. I rather like the brick too... It would add lots of texture to leave this. Another thing that would be useful is to have the sink opposite the oven with a slimline smeg dishwasher.. Perhaps the fridge/freezer could go where you have drawn the sink? With the full height larder... Consider a few bottom shelves for pans etc... Very quick access to the oven and food.. One thing there was a mention of Wolf ovens... If you want to keep costs down consider a Smeg dual fuel as they are about 7k cheaper. Wolf is beautiful and I love them but Smeg is a lot more affordable if budget is a consideration. Sleek lines with the Pure so think of simple spacious worktops... Dualit toaster, Kettle and possibly a microwave.. Keep piles of wooden chopping boards... Have some fantastic lighting, industrial style pendants. Embrace the north facing room and use dark colours with a warm tint. Introduce textures, and natural materials... Bamboo worktop? Granite, Oak.. Marble chopping boards and pestle and mortars.. Wooden shelving with piles of crockery... Some imagery to follow by way of a quick mood board..... : ))

Dorcas, Oh yes sorry that's great. So maybe go for Conforth White or Blackened? They should work well and has great light undertones that will help reflect light to keep it fresh looking. Maybe try a sample of those with the samples you painted of the Greys in that room? I wouldn't recommend wooden floors in the kitchen anyway so the limestone will pick out the slight yellowness in the undertones of the whites, and will help (as minni points out) to make the room feel warmer too. Don't forget to try the worktop against the colours too though as this will be impacted with what is around it :) Best of luck as always Gina

We have a large rooflight at one end of our 8m south facing extension which gets the morning east sun and another at the opposite end - so nothing in the middle. I don’t find the rooflights too hot - they are just normal triple glazed lights. The hot part is the doors as they are fully glazed across the whole back ie 6m. We get sun all day and it can get very hot. I would initially suggest looking at solar coating (the proper stuff isn’t cheap - maybe £140-180 per door panel?) to reduce the heat in the first place. Not so bad if you don’t have that many windows/doors. Alternatively individual roller blinds for each panel that are designed to reduce the heat but still alow sunlight in. You can lower them midday when it’s too hot. (we will be doing this for next year as it’s cheaper than building a full permanent structure!) Or a wind out awning of course which is more flexible.

Hi ! Just looking at your plans briefly - it’s clear that due to cabinetry on all four walls - you won’t get a very big table in there ! You mentioned no wall units due to having enough storage elsewhere - but - if you had wall cabinets storage and storage to the patio doors on the top wall - you could take off some perimeter cabinets to give room for a table that’s larger than ‘just’ a four seater one ? There’s a lot more that could be done with this space in my professional opinion. Re colours - in a north facing room if you chose ‘winter’ colours you will need to warm it up a tad with woods and other tricks like tactile accessories. Scandi style for example uses whites and pale greys warmed up with pale woods and real or faux animal fur on benches or seats to add warmth ... Alternatively brilliant white cabinetry on pale Egyptian Cotton walls can look great too and is warmer than most grey toned paint . re lighting - if this drawings is true and it’s a flat extension then lighting could be LEDs in ceiling throughout - but if the new part is a vaulted ceiling then cable lighting might work or stronger LEDs higher up could also work but there will be a shadow line where the change in height happens. ... To summarise, this is ok - could be better and if worked on by someone with more of a ‘design driven’ background - time could be spent trying different colours for you and looking at lighting options and the table would be included in the drawings to show you what space you actually end up with ... you could see what it could look like in a more real image.
