Best Flooring for Kitchen with concrete base

Hi
I’m getting a new kitchen installed but haven’t decided on flooring yet. The lounge leads direct to the kitchen and there are French doors from the Kitchen to the rear garden.
I was thinking of getting vinyl but not sure if it will be warm enough. Also the lounge is quite dark so I’m considering removing the door between there and the kitchen so would it be better to get the same flooring to both rooms?
The units are Howdens Greenwich Matt stone with black handles and the worktops/upstands are Howdens laminate speckled stone and appliances are black/ steel and sink/ taps are s steel and I have a black upright radiator.
Any suggestions please?

Vinyl is much warmer than tiles. You could get anything there as the kitchen is quite plain - wood effect, tiles effect. I’d probably choose a light - mid warm wood effect

Porcelain or ceramic tiles are very cold if you don’t have under floor heating, but vinyl is much warmer. I think to create more visual warmth in the kitchen you could go for an LVT in a warm wood effect. One flooring throughout will always make an area seem more spacious. Here’s some ideas

I had one child who could have skinned her knees in a padded room - and her older sister could spend all day on a farm and come home immaculate ! You know your kids best - the juxtaposition of the old and new sounds lovely - if you have accident prone kids - issue slipper socks and elbow/knee pads until they are used to it !!

Most welcome Melissa, The thing to concentrate on is what they can offer.. Best thing to do is look at their website.. This will give you some indication as to how specialist they are.. Also speak to them about what you're looking for this is really important!.. Prices and options are key.. I love concrete but it's not for every client.. So these 3 suggestions are based on my selection as there are many more and I cannot personally give you any recommendations for those 3 sorry but... it might help you to get an idea of their differing approaches.... I would not let this put you off making some enquiries.. I usually tell by the level of experience and talking, plus looking at how varied a company is.. I am very very picky and have been in a position myself where I've gone with lots of reviews only to find out they were awful and actually didn't know how to do the job.. ! Kindest, Amber : ) )

Hi Tamsinwc, No problem, will get some photos posted - completely forgot about this thread. Difficult question about what to go for. In terms of what we have (polished concrete 8mm depth): Pros: - Looks great - works really well with underfloor heating - easy to clean Cons: - Has started to get some cracks in it with the movement of the house. - Unforgiving on my 1 year old's head! - Unforgiving on my 5 year old's head! - Shows up every bit of dirt. - Can chip if something hard is dropped on it. My wife really likes it and I do as well though in terms of practicality with 2 youngsters, possibly not ideal. Resin looks good if you can stomach the cost and can look very similar to polished concrete though is meant to be a lot nicer underfoot with none of the cracking issues etc. Micro-cement sounded good but we just didn't like the trowel marks you get with it. Will post some photos of our floor.

Hi Ocean Home Designs, There are many pro's and cons when installing a floor prior or after the kitchen. An advantage with fitting prior would be it makes life easier to fit a kitchen on top off, as the levels would be a lot easier to work from. Another benefit would be, the flooring will be easier/quicker to install with no kitchen obstructions to go around. On the other hand, some would rather not waste material by going under the units as the floor would just be covered over and never seen again, hence making a saving in material & fitting costs.
