Absolutely love the door you’ve put in, could you let me know where you bought it? And if you’re happy to share roughly the cost?

Hi paulineewilson, to add more interest, you could possible consider lifting a paving slab here and there that won't compromise the main areas you would walk on regularly. Where you've chosen to lift a slab, you could add some fragrant plants such as lavender or herbs that tolerate being trodden on occasionally. The spare slab you've lifted could then be placed further away from your house to create another planting square. into this you could plant one of those tall pencil-thin Italian evergreen trees. Your patio would gain more 3D interest if you used a few plants that are tall and narrow and evergreen. Tall evergreens provide shade in summer and winter interest. I would check with your garden centre the distance you should plant these Italian evergreens trees cannot damage buildings or drains with roots. I'd also perhaps consider making the table area of your patio a curved semi-circle shape rather than have 90 degree angles. I am sure you will enjoy tweaking your patio as the basic design is lovely!

The photo you used is definitely giant fennel because the same pic came up in a google search, however you are right to ask a local. Here in Ibiza the Ibicencans pick all kinds of food from the field boundaries and woods all year. At the moment it is mostly aspargus, wild garlic and the fresh bright green shoots of normal fennel. Mushrooms are a big thing in the autumn and most of the year there is a green veg that looks and tastes similar to spinach. Also the Med has sage and rosemary everywhere. I am still learning for when I retire, I have some land around the house with all of the above plus almonds, olives, oranges, lemons, pomegranite and a lovely fruit called Nispera in Spain but my Spanish mate Chema tells me there is a lot more that is both healthy and free. I also have a False pepper tree the fruits of which are actually useable as pepper (black).

For me it would have to be the home of David Bowie and his wife Iman. I can't decide whether I imagine them to have a very modern home with white walls like an art gallery, filled with a fantastic and varied collection of art, iconic pieces of furniture and lots of quirky artefacts from his music career or a very homely retreat with earthy colours, tactile carvings, sculptures and cultural curiosities. Whatever it looks like, for a man whose image and style has been such an integral part of his creative career, I am sure it certainly wouldn't be boring!

What a terrible question to have to consider- How could you ever choose??? Many say family photos - but you know what - if I lost mine it wouldn't matter too much because I can remember my life in pictures - I was there. We take so many photos on our phone and never look at them we need to try to think back more and remember. My cat? Well, he's not a possession - he chooses to live with us and we are his servants! I suppose it would have to be my first guitar I used professionally - a 1950/early 60s (?) Hofner Congress. Here - have a laugh, this is me in about 1978: The guitar lasted better than I did !
