planting advice

Hi. Novice (and not very enthusiastic) gardener here. I’m emptying a raised flower bed that was full of bulbs, most of which didn’t flower. I’d like some advice in what to plant in them instead. It’s a north facing garden, gets some sun during the day. I like its current lush feel but not untidiness. I’d like some year round interest and not too much height so we can see the plants and pond beyond (behind the bed is a large koi carp pond).
