Wall colour to match carpet
We moved home a year ago, and had plans to reconfigure the kitchen/living/dining area into one space. Unfortunately with mortgage complications our budget to do the work evaporated. We had planned to remove walls, repaint and put down new flooring. Until we have the funds to do the full project I am looking for a solution to the current wall colour. Replacing the carpet is not really an option due to the square-meterage and that it’ll likely get ripped up if we do the project we plan.
As the photo show it’s currently a very yellow wall colour over a blue carpet. We’d like a lighter more neutral colour, but are worried that with the blue carpet it might have a medical feel.
Any suggestions as to what might go well with such a distinctive carpet!

Comments (8)I see what you mean, it is a bit bland. Your painting feels a bit too small on the chimney breast, so I'd hang that on the wall behind the TV. I think you should lose the wall lights. I think that you could paint the entire fireplace wall a nice greyish blue, maybe look at Dulux Denim Drift I'd hang a lovely round mirror on the chimney. I've put one with a wooden frame in, but it could be anything you like really. And I've also put a large canvas art piece above the dining table. I assume you've moved that against the wall because you're working from home etc. now? Otherwise I'd turn it around and centre it under the ceiling light. Are these ceiling lights your choice? PRO9 months agoI agree alongside with all of the above. How about something a little bolder, and still complimenting, COAT’s Nomad/Dark Olive Green on the walls. Or if you go with the white walls option, try accessorising with gold in places with a stone colour sofa or armchairs. Perhaps have a feature wall in a grey colour alongside the white background.
