What colour scheme to go with my new grey/brown wardrobes
Comments (6)It looks like you have neutral bedding, carpet and curtains already so you can put any colour on the walls. When you look at testers make sure that you like it in electric light. If it were my room I would choose a stronger colour as it will be broken up by a lot of neutrals......I say take inspiration from the rest of your house- choose a colour from the same pallet to those used in other rooms so that the each room feels like it has come from the same imagination and has a sense of increased space and flow....See MoreShould I paint these wardrobes?
Comments (2)I think it depends on what else you are doing in the room. If you want a mid tone colour on the wall then I think they might work as they are. If you choose a pale soft colour for the walls I would paint these wardrobes and fire surround a similar colour for a cohesive look. Personally I would paint the walls a deep colour and then paint the furniture and woodwork a soft white, add white bedding and pictures and light fittings. When you are finished there won't be much dark wall colour showing but what is visible will frame the window and furniture making it stand out....See MoreWhat colour carpet and walls will go with the wardrobe?
Comments (2)Hi there, do you have any photos of the wardrobe and space? Practicality is one of the main reasons why white or cream isn’t the first carpet colour choice as people are worried it will show up the dirt or stain easily. However these days, it’s possible for a pale carpet to keep its good looks, even in heavy traffic areas. Cormar offers a selection of easy-clean, stain-resistant polypropylene carpets that are even bleach cleanable, which means surface dirt like mud and spills, simply wipes away with a damp cloth. If white or cream still isn’t screaming out practicality, why not choose a silver or grey carpet which can be more sympathetic to spills and stains, especially in an easy clean fibre. Or if you’re feeling bold, why not choose a dark blue or charcoal carpet, play around with contrasting colours in the paintwork, furnishings, and well-chosen accessories for a touch of glamour. You can browse our selection of carpets that are designed to cope with everyday household spills here http://www.cormarcarpets.co.uk/types_easy_clean.php Let us know what you decide!...See MoreModern cream wardrobe - change doors or paint walls?
Comments (3)Perhaps it's because the walls are white that the wardrobe doors looked more "off white." Two choices, either paint the walls or get the doors re-done. A local carpenter/joiner company should be able to do this if they have an edge banding machine. It's a simple case of cutting down MFC and edging it on the machine. You could opt for a different colour but you'd need the side panels doing too....See Moreminnie101
