What colour to paint wardrobe?
I'm renovating my house using colours that are natural and calming - heritage colours or muted shades of stone or sage green provide a base, with small accents of burnt sienna, forest green etc to provide richness.
This bedroom has just been painted in Portland Stone Pale. I've added this bed, and I have a classic old wardrobe that will go on the wall facing the bed. It'll also have a cornice on top.
I'm choosing between these Little Greene colours to paint the wardrobe:
-Portland Stone (slightly darker than PS Pale) Buy 'Portland Stone' Neutral Paint Online | Little Greene
-Book Room Green Buy 'Book Room Green' Stone Colour Paint | Little Greene
-Portland Stone Pale (same colour as walls) Buy 'Portland Stone Pale' Off White Paint | Little Greene

Comments (6)It looks like you have neutral bedding, carpet and curtains already so you can put any colour on the walls. When you look at testers make sure that you like it in electric light. Comments (2)I think it depends on what else you are doing in the room. If you want a mid tone colour on the wall then I think they might work as they are. If you choose a pale soft colour for the walls I would paint these wardrobes and fire surround a similar colour for a cohesive look. Personally I would paint the walls a deep colour and then paint the furniture and woodwork a soft white, add white bedding and pictures and light fittings. Comments (3)Perhaps it's because the walls are white that the wardrobe doors looked more "off white." Two choices, either paint the walls or get the doors re-done. A local carpenter/joiner company should be able to do this if they have an edge banding machine. It's a simple case of cutting down MFC and edging it on the machine. You could opt for a different colour but you'd need the side panels doing too....See More

6 months agoI love the green. It’s a barely there green and I don’t feel it would be too in your face. Just a suggestion but have you looked at Slaked Lime? It’s a very gentle off white/palest cream and I’ve used it on a couple of old pine bookcases and they are greatly improved by being painted.
