Fireplace or no fireplace?
Comments (5)Hello Angela, A photo of the room would be good.. I agree having not had a tv for nearly 10 years... I definitely hate seeing them in people's living rooms.. I would have a projector and pull down screen from ceiling... Well then back to the question at hand.. I'd say have a wood burner you can get one for as little as £250 and the pellet ones are far more.... The wood burning stoves are fantastic and as much as you might think you may not use it.. In winter there is nothing like having a proper wood burning I get 1 delivery of logs a year and I use them economically... I'm writing this in August and it looks like a monsoon outside! I'm glancing now at the fire and thinking.. Also can you not have your tv and a wood burner? The tv could be in a less overtly visible space.. . : ))...See MoreWin tickets to Grand Designs Live - tell us your Grand Designs dream!
Comments (17)My partner & I bought a fishery with 2 lakes just over a year ago, the entire 10 acre site was very neglected, but we have renovated the lakes so that the anglers have a wonderful experience in beautiful surroundings. Our dream now is to renovate the house, reconfiguring the property so that we too can enjoy the beauty of our surroundings. There is also an acre of garden to landscape, we have many ideas but ideas on where to start would be fantastic...See MoreDesign Dilemma - bedrooms in our bedroom

Comments (8)Hi Daniel, what a great space! Looks like it's coming along nicely. Were you planning to do the panelling yourself or get a joiner in to complete this? Because the walls are different heights and widths it will just be a case of trying to cut it off at the best point, or only panelling up to a certain height to level out the difference. You could also leave a deliberate non-panelled border? If you're not 100% set on the panelling, what about using one alcove for a picture gallery and the other with simple floating shelves. Both make great use of the space (offering more storage with the shelves) and by using them for different things it hides the asymmetry. When they get used for the same purpose or have the same décor (such as the panelling) because they're different shapes, the comparison highlights the differences. Hope that's of some use!...See More75christine
