Bedroom design issue

Hi i was hoping to get some opinion and design advice on this bedroom

i really llke it but its not reaching the standard id like

the wall vent makes it difficult in terms of curtains (which i need to trim) and a pelmet would help i think

keen to hear thoughts on the whole room

I would just add a bit of pattern. Your colours are all dominant primaries. Play around with grass baskets, a patterned throw and maybe a patterned cushion or two. Something in a light colour with texture. I think a roman blind within the window reveal would give you a neater finish as your curtain situation does appear tricky. A textured rug in a self patterned grey or beige positioned half under the bed would really elevate it too. Another option would be a large basket type pendant to replace that spotlight to soften the whole effect. I think your bedside lights may be a bit low. I'd advise something bigger but its probably not possible considering the size of the bedside shelves.

I found the Dulux Visualator, or whatever it’s called, to be pretty useless. I used it once to visualise my old sitting room colour just to see how accurate it was. My walls were Dulux Elderflower so compared it on the Dulux online thingy and it was completely different!

Thanks for the replies so far. I do think I want at least a double but I will need to be flexible if the room is too small. I have attached the layout, it is labelled bedroom 2. As mentioned it is a small house in general, so I am not expecting much rent but I may as well rent it out. On a side note, I also would like to redecorate the rooms as the current laminate flooring is damaged. I was thinking of getting wool carpets as they make the room cosy and warmer whilst also reducing noise from downstairs. Any nice combo of colours for small rooms? Lastly, any ideas what to do with the tiny room (bedroom 3). Ideally want a single bed in their but it will rarely be used so would be great to find some way of making it a study with the occasional place for someone to sleep. It is tiny so that is asking for a lot!
