entryway sconce/decor?
Hi all- thank you all so much for your help as I redecorate and renovate my house. I was wondering if you could weigh in on my entryway. This small wall to the right of the table- would a sconce look good there? I would do a faux battery operated one, purely decorative and not for lighting needs. If you’d do a sconce- single arm or dual arm?
Or should I leave this wall blank or put something else there?
It appears cluttered due to all the Xmas cards that I will soon take down. I blacked out all of the personal photos/cards for privacy. I like having family photos up even if it’s not the most aesthetic choice. Thanks!

I've currently used Sanderson's Sea Blue but the one I wish I had used, and which I found after I'd painted the room, is Abigail Aherne's Bowery Blue. I've put a spread of it on a wall, next to a spread of the one I've used to compare them, and it's richer but brighter and very intense. I will paint over the Sanderson one as soon as I've got the energy. Comments (10)Hi Swiftrt, Because the wall is flush with the doorway on to your kitchen I would be hesitant to build this out too far with a boot rack or coat hooks etc. I like that you've made the most of the overhang from the kitchen alcove - this looks like your best bet for shoe storage. What about a slimline enclosed shoe cabinet here - something like: [Oslo Shoe Cabinet[(https://www.houzz.co.uk/products/oslo-shoe-cabinet-prvw-vr~87946990). For your coats, hats, scarves etc - a rack on the back of the front door or the small wall behind could be a solution. Now for the fun task - because the wall is the first thing that greets you when you arrive home, it should be welcoming and entirely personal. A photo wall - with the addition of some cute prints: Think your favourite city / films / book covers. Add some wall hung plants or a potted floor plant for some vibrancy. 3 months agolast modified: 3 months agoThe console with mirror is a bit squished into the space, and doesn’t appear to be sized for an adult. I’d display the family photos on picture ledges, and provide an ottoman to drop bags or take off shoes as you enter.
