Need help for my new open plan kitchen/living
Comments (28)As an owner of a large glass kitchen table (octagonal btw) I would not recommend getting one! Especially if you have children. Octagonal shape is great as every guest gets a side, but glass shows fingerprints, even little dust etc. and underneath the table top as well! Harder to clean too. Then you would probably want to get placemats as it's not a nice feeling/sound when you put plates and cutlery on the glass....See MoreHelp! need advice on interior design for open plan living space!
Comments (4)Hi Sofaiza, It sounds like you have done great so far and have a great space. Well done. I have just completed a kitchen design with what sounds like exactly the same kitchen units. We went for a speckled white worktop which worked really well. We then chose a light grey with a hint of blue for the walls - this is modern and fresh and works well with the white gloss and with the silvers or whites that may appear elsewhere in the kitchen. What flooring have you gone for? For a contrast Black worktop went well and was considered for the same project I mentioned. For the features walls the tiles sound intriguing but I would need to see them to get a better idea or know if they would work with the design. Sounds good though. I am happy to forward a few images of the project here if you want to get in touch. It will give you an idea of how it will all look. I also have trade accounts with the companies I purchased from last time which maybe of interest to you if you are planning on purchasing yourself (not through a tradesmen or designer). My email address is gina.everett@createperfect.co.uk or feel free to call the office on 0208 133 0702. All the best, Gina...See Moreany floor plan lay out design wizards out there
Comments (32)This is what I just sent as mentioned in above comments ^ I think after a lot of deliberation I am going to tone back my design quite a lot and hopefully build a glass conservatory out in the side return after doing the rest of the the renovations inside the back of the house. This is what I would like to do to begin with: With the intension of doing this after the the above is done: Im just trying to find out from a structural point of view if would I need to add a new steel RSJ in above where the current window opening is in order to put in the french windows, or bottom sliding Bi-folds in, and also find out if I have to move the boiler to make this design comply with building regs? If the answer is yes. Then I think I would bite the bullet and move the boiler and put a bigger opening in here to make something more like this: With a the possibility of adding something like this after the main works had been done: I would like the have a glass and steel conservatory sit on a steel conservatory base that is placed on concrete pads. Like I have found out can be done after coming across this website: https://www.premierlc.co.uk/conservatory-bases-compared/ What do you guys think?...See MoreDesign help needed for a open plan kitchen/diner
Comments (8)I can depend on the aspect of the room. Also, the tiles will have their own 'colour' so depending on what that is, the paint needs to work with it. If you go to an art shop like Hobbycraft and buy several large sheets of stiff card then paint the samples on very carefully at least two coats, this will be better than splodges on the wall....See More- 5 months ago
