Lounge / Dining room layout help - Please :)
Comments (10)Hello, Mark! I'm Gabriela, a designer from Akiva Projects. First of all, you really have great ideas for your lounge/dining room! I don't see why not leave the fireplace where it is now and still do what you want - a false chimney breast built with an electric fire and TV built into it. By doing that you would have an advantage on your side: you will have the possibility of building a storage in the same wall of the fireplace using the thickness of the pillars that you have - a great way of blending them on the room! I really think that this could add value to your lifestyle. We offer a fantastic design service and would be happy to offer our advice. Have a look at our page, and please get in contact for an initial conversation. We are an award winning company renowned for our customer service and can offer complete guidance. Comments (26)We will have upper wall cabinets, just cant add them with the software I am using. Looking at the last photo you posted Celerygirl, we might actually have our seating under the Velux windows (another thing i cant add with software) of the extension as it would be nice to sit under some light. Like this but with a different table, perhaps banquet seat against the wall...See MoreLounge Layout, Design and Furnishings
Comments (35)Hi, Reviving a bit of an old post here with some more thoughts. I agree with everyone that the sofa is probably best looking onto the window but having given it a try it makes the TV pretty much not visible unfortunately. I can't think of anywhere that I could place the TV that would give a good angle for the sofa in that position. (Other than pulling it out from the wall and angling it, which looked pretty poor when I tried it) Open to suggestions though. I may just have to move the sofa back a little to create slightly more room for chairs. I think if I put it right up against the wall the space will possibly be too big for conversation. In the end I've actually grown to like the eames chair and chesterfield combo so will just add one more chair now. either on the same side as the current chair or two chairs facing each other at different sides of the sofa. :) @Emily - The dinning table is further away from the kitchen in the window thats true. The alternative I think would be to shift everything up towards the bay window more and put the dinning table at the other end of the room. I think that might look a little odd since the fireplace is in the centre?...See MoreLayout ideas for lounge
