Can I set tiles like this without grout on my kitchen backsplash
Comments (6)You really do need grout for your backsplash, for a proper job that is waterproof and easy to clean. Having said that, I once did a "just for now" refreshing of my tiny kitchen to hold it over for a while until I could afford to totally gut it and start over. I didn't want to bother grouting in some inexpensive tiles as a backsplash because I thought they would only be there for a short time. I painted the backsplash area a similar colour to the tiles, so the stark white plaster would not show through the cracks between the tiles and then lightly glued the tiles to the wall, butting them up directly to one another. Little did I know that I was about to get laid off from my job and it would be 8 years before I could afford to do the renovation I desired. The ungrouted tile backslash held up beautifully and because I was careful, remained dry and clean for that whole time. I just finally did the kitchen reno this past winter and they stayed stuck tight to the plaster as I tore it out. :-)...See MoreGrout colour for wood effect porcelain tiles

I have a Victorian house and old battered boards in our living room - they have gaps between the boards which effectively almost look black. When we did wood effect tiles in our en-suite, I bought similar coloured tiles and then used a dark anthracite grout to get the same effect as the living room. However the tiles you have chosen are a different style - they’re a lovely fresh contemporary wood effect compared to my old battered boards, so a more neutral colour that blends in would look fab!...See MoreIdeas on grout colour for existing tiles please
Comments (3)I wonder if tile stickers may be an option? Now I’m not sure how hardwearing they are but they would update the look. I don’t think a different grout will make much difference to the overall check-aboard look....See MoreWhat color tile grout?
Comments (0)Hi, we're re-tiling 2 bathrooms, both pretty small with showers. It's a small flat, so neither have windows, so no natural light. The flat is in Spain, so having vintage style floor tiles, just wondering what color grout to use. I guess the best would be like a darker off white, like the background color of the tiles, but I don't want it to get dirty after use and look awful. Or I don't want to create more cleaning than necessary for myself! You can see the floor tiles together for the pattern & then a photo with the wall tiles. What do you think?...See More- 2 months ago
