HELP with living room layout/ finishing touches etc
Comments (37)Dont feel overwhelmed take your time its just a matter of trying things and see how you feel in the space, Its difficult to feel the space from a photo so take what you like and see how you feel ! You are getting there, it would be good if the desk could go elsewhere ,but if it needs to be in the room then so be it, we work around it! the curtains are fine they really suit the window etc! You dont have to use the red in the picture, you can always pick up the grey, white or gold for cushions! wall sconces look beautiful and yes you do seem to go for the classic look which is lovely! but these days you can mix and match a bit! Your choices are great I am sure we will be able to help you make this space one you are happy with!...See Morekitchen help! the finishing touch
Comments (6)Thx! It is indeed an upstand what I'm looking for :). No need to worry about the oven or microwave. That's all fixed and at perfect height for me. A stand alone microwave will be places inside one of the hanging cabinets. Below those cabinet I will place some lights. More lights van be placed if needed, but in the ceiling I will at least place 4 LED lamps. Good idea of the shelves on the left wall. I had the same idea because I would like to maintain an open feeling. For the sizes I would like to refer to the picture below. But I'm still doubting is I should go for black, brown (to match the tall cabinets) or something else......See MoreStudio Apartment Design - Progress so far and finishing touch thoughts
Comments (1)Use of space is great and some ingenius ideas. Hate the idea of a Murphy bed so this is a much better solution. One thing that jars with me is the table right up against the sofa. There's no denying it's a drop leaf dining table, rather occasional/side table , so to me it feels rather shoved up against the couch. Have you considered moving it (perhaps with the addition of castors on the legs for versatility ) to act more like an island for the kitchen area, which can then be opened out when needed. It certainly seems like there's room. You could then consider whether a console or shelf (possibly drop down) could be fixed to act as a workstation elsewhere? Overall, however, a lovely job and great use of a compact space. Well done, would love to see it when you've finished....See MoreFinishing Touches?
Comments (15)Lovely hallway. I do have hallway envy now! As far as art goes, if you are looking for prints, try King & McGaw, an online gallery, they do a huge array of prints, some of them limited editions. They do classical prints right through to pop art. We found a gorgeous print by Mondrian there. For budget prints Etsy is brilliant too and have a huge range. It takes me forever to choose art too, it’s such an emotive thing. Just choose something you love, and it will always be right....See Morekris1958
