Narrow guest bedroom - need window dressing ideas.
Comments (25)Very nice - I like how you repeat the circular shapes with the wallpaper and the chandelier and the lamp base. It's a nice juxtaposition to all the horizontal lines....See MoreGuest bedroom
Comments (5)It's good there's plenty of light, North facing rooms are notoriously difficult to decorate. Northern light is very cool, so it's best to stay away from cool colours like grey, blue and blue based greens. White can feel gloomy with northern light too, choose colours with a creamy yellow base or red based, you need the colour to have warmth. Have a look at Dulux Timeless Classics - there's some lovely colours and quite a few warm tones. A pro on here has recommended the colour Bone China in this range. I'd keep the bedding a plain crisp white but then add colour with a throw and cushions - lovely ones on White company but not cheap. Keep the curtains white or pale linen in a lightweight fabric and add a blind for the practicalities of sleeping. It might help you to create an ideabook by looking through the photo section on Houzz....See MoreGuest bedroom colour scheme
Comments (9)Hi there.. Looks like a great project ... And a great size room.. So if the room is south facing that means light... Maybe lots of it.? So dark furniture. Light to medium walls.. Soft whites, greys maybe a follow through from what you may have existing in your home.. But some vibrant fabrics to lift the colours.. Yellow or mustard. Bright and sunny oranges, reds. This can be used in the throws, bedding, cushions. Art work.. Then whenever you fancy a change.. It's easy and not as costly.. There are lots of enthusiastic people on here, and more photos that you could ever imagine... Good luck and please may we see your results.!!...See MoreHelp with guest bedroom, please
Comments (5)OK i think you have a number of challenges here. First up does that cot not collapse? It looks like a travel cot. If it does then take it down immediately and store it in the loft or under the bed. I'm not sure that your furniture placement is correct. The bed next to the wardrobe looks odd and the bed looks like it is blocking the radiator. Will the head of the bed go against the wall with the single shelf? Personally I'd remove the sink. Sinks in bedrooms are not a good look. Understand that you might need it though if you only have one bathroom though. Remove all of the shelving. Curtains are way too short and should be floor length. Easily fixed by attaching some fabric to the bottom. Your curtain pole is also too low and should be closer to the ceiling. I'd add coving and then a soft grey on the walls. Something like ammonite perhaps or if you want blue then Skylight which is a nice blue/grey (depending on the light) which would go with the blues already present in the carpet and curtains. Much fuller duvet with white bedding, some throws, cushions, rug etc to bring in pattern and texture and a nice bedside lamp....See MoreCathy Phillips & Co
