POLL: What will be the kitchen trends in 2016?
Comments (42)Having enough storage makes a huge difference to a kitchen - we had ours redone in 2015 & we decided on a lot of storage, with the cupboards scribed to the ceiling (no my dust at the top of the units) as well as useable long counter tops that are practical for preparing & cooking. We also opted to have a microwave built in because it frees up the counter in the adjoining utility. http://deeatthecarlton.blogspot.co.uk/2015/03/the-kitchen-is-beautiful.html Kitchens have to be practical because it is a space which is generally used a lot in most homes ......See MoreMatt or gloss kitchen. Comments (1)Hi Angelina. We have this discussion with most of our clients with contemporary kitchen designs. To be honest, both would look great! Especially finished in a light grey... this colour will allow you an easy life (cleaning and maintaining) with either choice. Naturally, gloss slabs are easier to maintain (especially in lighter colours), but I can't see you having any problems with a satin matt finish - showrooms aren't really a fair reflection on your own personal kitchen. Gloss will of course allow light to bounce around more in the room, which can be great if you are trying to open up a space... but at times it can be too much and this is sometimes where a matt finish is preferred. Our Burgh Heath project has a satin matt finish in 3 different colours (below) Hope the above helps Angelina - Let us know which way you go!...See MoreMatt or gloss kitchen units?

Comments (0)It’s 2018 so I thought I’d get the current thoughts of Houzz app users! Which of these kitchen do you prefer? It would be for a south facing kitchen in London, which has quite a lot of light coming in. The floor will be light wood with a white wash (similar to the dark matt kitchen) and the worktop will be quartz. Thanks for voting!...See MoreCountry Image
