A Family Home Reimagined: A Place Where Character Lives
This project brings together four individually designed bedrooms and a colour-immersed bathroom. With injections of fun, each space has its own personality while allowing the rooms to work cohesively.
The first bedroom features Mind the Gap’s Botanical ‘Exotic Menagerie Light’ wallpaper, giving the room a bold and expressive backdrop. Valenki Fabric by Ian Sanderson in ‘Rust’ and an authentic Persian rug add texture and depth to the room’s palette. A mix of seating—including a mid-century armchair reupholstered in brown boucle and the Sagrada Chair chair from Soho Home—adds further texture and contributes to the layered feel. The skirting and window frames in the colour ‘Ambleside’ by Little Greene add definition to the scheme, while a ceiling rose and softly glowing Lee Broom pendant lighting complete the space.
In the second bedroom, a Mustard Made locker in Navy, a retro-tiled fireplace and bold ‘Slawn’ artwork set a confident, graphic tone that’s softened by sage walls. Thin, striped blue and white bedding and a pale Componibili bedside table add a lighter, more relaxed note. The doorway leads to a cooler blue hallway that pairs well with the bedroom’s sage palette, giving the two spaces an easy, uninterrupted flow.
In the third bedroom, the vibrant window frames in Little Greene's 'Green Verditer' immediately catch the eye, bringing a sharp pop of colour that contrasts with the surrounding dark tones. The bespoke floor-to-ceiling cabinetary are off-set with brown leather handles, adding interest and variation. A sculptural squiggle chair and striped blinds introduce shape and pattern, while a yellow ‘Favourite Things Pendant’ by Eno Studio ties the lively space together.
The spare bedroom is fully colour-drenched in ‘Threadneedle’ by Mylands, across the walls, woodwork, and ceiling for a calm, unified look. It’s paired with a Mustard Made locker in ‘Olive’, an industrial metal bed frame, forest green linen bedding, and round raw-edge bedside tables topped with glossy black bedside lights. An art deco statement mirror above the fireplace enhances the room’s colour and presence.
Finally, the bathroom continues the home’s bold palette, colour drenched in Rouge II by Paint & Paper Library, contrasted with chrome finishes. Crittal windows and vintage Spanish tiles from Bert & May add structure and clarity resulting in a warm yet energising modern-retro feel.
