A Moody Shaker Style Black Kitchen

Our clients came to us with a clear vision: they wanted a kitchen that felt bold. Refined. With a feeling of sophisticated character. They were inspired by a solid oak kitchen they spotted in our studio, but wanted a twist: they asked us to reimagine it in all black. From cabinetry to worktops, to tapware.

The result? A dramatic, elegant shaker kitchen that balances richness with functionality, and traditional charm with smart storage.

We designed and supplied a full wall of bespoke cabinetry in solid oak, finished in satin double-sided lacquer for a deep, sophisticated tone. Traditional shaker detailing gave the space a timeless quality, while sleek matt black handles (Frost Barcelona) maintained a contemporary feel.

The worktops were a key feature in this kitchen’s statement design. We installed 50mm polished Neolith Nero Marquina, fabricated by Unique Stone Surfaces, to create a striking surface with delicate veining.

The kitchen island features an undermount sink with a matt black Vola tap, perfectly matching the monochrome palette.

Finishing Touches That Matter

Storage was a top priority for our clients, and kept front of mind throughout the whole design - like you see in this gorgeously oversized pantry unit housing open oak shelving, condiment racks, and wicker baskets. Making food storage both functional and beautiful.

Storage for Every Detail

One of the standout features of this kitchen is the hidden breakfast unit. Designed with future flexibility in mind, the cabinet includes a power connection and deep shelves to home whatever our clients desire. Unity was maintained, with surfaces and panelling mirroring the materials we used...

A Hidden Breakfast Bar With Slide Away Door

Storage was the main priority for our client. We added push to open cabinets to the back of the island and an overhanging bar allowed for seating.

Kitchen Island with Floor to Ceiling Tall Units

In the adjacent dining area, we continued the design language with a black dining table, statement pendant lights, and dark upholstery. These elements tie in with the kitchen while the large windows and pared-back styling make the space feel light and welcoming.
