When this family of four moved from a period house to a modern home it was time to think differently about furniture and storage. They enlisted the help of Barbara Genda for what became a three-phase project to add sufficient storage throughout. The starting point was a cupboard under the stairs, which became useful hanging space for coats and the children’s school and PE bags. In the master bedroom, dysfunctional furniture was replaced with beautiful walnut wardrobes broken up by smoked mirrors. During the second phase, a statement library was created with thick shelves and integrated lighting as well as the addition of storage to a study room. In the dining room a stylish free-standing display unit in dark stained oak perfectly complemented the existing dining table. Finally, the third phase of the project was a playroom in the loft, which was fitted out with white shelves bearing colourful fronts for a funky and vibrant finish!
