This project is for the remodelling and extension of a 4 storey Victorian house with a loft conversion in a Conservation Area in North Kensington, London.

The project consists of creating new living spaces on the Raised Ground floor and new bedrooms on the upper floors, including the reclaimed roof space.

The Raised Ground floor was radically reconfigured with the main staircase being moved towards the entrance hall. This allowed to create a new living space on the garden side for the dining room. Furthermore, the staircase’s first floor landing was pulled back to create a double-height space above the dining area. As a result, the new dining area sits within an extraordinary volume of 6.30 metres height with a direct access to the balcony!

The Lower Ground floor is refurbished to provide additional living spaces with a new glazed extension created at the back of the house. On top of the rear extension, the existing balcony is replaced by a new balcony with a direct access from the new dining area.
