Making the most of a small space - Hampton
Southwest-facing long, narrow courtyard.
At 2.7m wide at an odd angle to the house, the partly walled garden was remodeled, to give the impression of as much space as possible. Room for plants, friends, a shed, planters and a washing line, were all on the wish list. So with some careful thought and a few visual tricks, (we used sandstone sets in two colours, to add horizontal stripes to the narrowest part), in ‘Tardis’ fashion, we managed to get it all in. Where there was a cluttered yard, we made a lovely serene garden.
