Having recently completed a full extension and refurbishment project for a
neighbouring property, we were approached by our client to ask whether it
would be possible to extend into the loft space over her studio flat.
Our client had spoken to three other architecture practises before reaching out
to us. All had said the extension would not be possible. We instantly saw the
potential, transforming a studio into a two bedroom apartments seemed like a
no-brainer. So, without hesitation, and in full appreciation of all the challenges,
we said, let’s have a go.
So we planned for worst, developed options design to overcome all possible
challenges, and hoped for the best. Having completed a pre-application advice
submission, planning was approved at the first time of asking. Nice one.
We are now developing the design for construction. Look out for super-cool duplex apartment coming soon.
