This Hackney garden had previously been dominated by a dense magnolia tree which overshadowed a struggling lawn.

For the garden redesign, the tree was trimmed and the lawn replaced by a verdant bed of shade loving plants.

New patios were installed at both ends of the garden, and they were linked by a brick path on one side and by stepping stones through the planting on the other.

Planting included Acanthus mollis, Persicaria affine ‘Darjeeling Red’ and Heuchera ‘Paris’
