Sanding and sealing an apartment in the Jewellery Quarter Birmingham

The apartment in Birmingham's iconic Jewellery Quarter was in a wonderful location, and had huge potential, but the interiors were badly letting it down.

We were tasked with sanding back a thick layers of floor paint that had dulled and given the floor a truly drab appearance.

We used the Bona Flexisander to remove the majority of existing floor coating, starting with 40 grit [lots of 40 grit] pads and moving up the grades. As we went along, we paid special attention to some specific areas that had deeper scratches or ingress of the original floor paint.
Once all traces of the original stain were removed, we again used the flexisander in buffer mode to apply a Bona 2k stain oil. The stain oil buffs on, and after drying will suitably protect the floor for standard domestic wear.
The apartment was due to be rented out once fully renovated, so we decided to finish the process of with the ultra heard-wearing Bona Traffic HD lacquer, which is suitable for very heavy commercial application.

You can see from the finished results what a transformation has been achieved, and compared to the original look, the apartment has a completed different aesthetic.
