The orangery at the back of this very old farmhouse was added during the renovation of this family home, creating a whole new, bright and very spacious living dining room. The kitchen was fitted at one end of the room and a big eight-seater table and soft long comfy sofas filled the rest of the space. This project is a lovely example of how you can make a family space so inviting and chilled, yet completely understated, by using a small number of cupboards and spending your money on quality classic pieces. There is a lovely big AGA, base cupboards from our Shaker range in 'Mushroom' with a black granite worktop and a prep table from our Classic English Kitchen range in 'Lead' with a staved oak worktop. No wall cupboards, just a couple of shelves and a peg rail. Less is definitely more in this case.
