Design ideas for a large classic kitchen in Auckland.

Avenue Kitchen

Transitional Kitchen, Auckland

CLIENT BRIEF The client was very clear, on keeping a traditional look to this Kitchen and Scullery design to compliment the architecture of the property, whilst incorporating all the modern conveniences, within space to eat and socialise. After numerous meeting we all decided that the Aster Avenue Kitchen Model from Italy would best suite the requirements of the client and the project. KITCHEN SOLUTION • The Avenue Kitchen from Aster Cucine's Transitional range followers no fashion, which means that it will continue to look its best even after many years of use. • The final finish specified for the kitchen was a smooth porcelaine painted white lacquer over an oak wood veneer front for all doors and drawers. • The bench tops are finished in a Granite Antique Brown with a 30 mm thick square edge detail as a contrast to the crisp clean white of the kitchen. • All door and drawer fronts are framed with a thin boarder so as to not interfere with the over all look of the kitchen and so enhance its clean lines. • In keeping with the open plan living of the home, we provided a central island hub for a more social cooking experience, allowing the cook of the house to create a culinary feast for their family and friends and yet still be included in the conversation. • The kitchen also incorporates a hidden wine storage unit and was one of the items on the clients wish list along with a hidden chopping board and knife drawer. • The free standing range cooker adds to the sleek uncluttered modern look of the integrated appliances and is in keeping with the traditional look and feel of the Avenue kitchen and the home. • Finally, a small Tea and Coffee station area was suggested for those morning and evening drinks with two wall mounted glass door cabinets and LED lights.
