Traditional Kitchen, Providence

This family with 5 kids loved their early 20th century Colonial Revival house and its yard, but needed a more functional kitchen and mudroom, and space for the family to get together informally. The old layout ignored the beautiful yard beyond, and the kids were out of sight if they played out there. The result of BTGA’s intervention was an addition which created a larger, more functional eat-in kitchen with a new back porch and family room added. A new mudroom with individual cubbies helped each child keep their things organized. The result? A happier, more organized family and lots of room to work in the kitchen. This project was featured in “Kitchen and Bath Ideas” magazine. Photos by Robert Brewster
