Existing layout featured:

– Torturous angles in the design of the house made work zones cramped with a frenetic aesthetic at odds
with the linear skylights creating disharmony and an unbalanced feel to the entire space.
– Unappealing seating zones, not utilising the amazing view or north face space
WISH LIST
– Comfortable retreat for two people and extend family, with space for multiple cooks to work in the kitchen together or to a functional work zone for a couple.
DESIGN SOLUTION
– Removal of awkward angle walls creating more space for a larger kitchen
– External angles which couldn’t be modified are hidden, creating a rational, serene space where the skylights run parallel to walls and fittings.

Of styles, Farmhouse Shaker style contemporary and classic yet gives of the warm feeling of a rustic vibe interior design, creating a third, which transcends time. Match of finishes: hammering, antique brass finish, trowel, natural finish, matte, shiny reflective glass. An encounter between optimal functionality and pure aesthetics, which coexist in perfect balance. Blue avio, a color blue kitchen, played down by the large contemporary island and Shaker Style Cabinets, which aesthetically create a clever play of depth. The workhorse is undoubtedly his island, a dialogue of styles between classic and contemporary, a combination of materials in which honey-colored wood meets Nero Marquinia stone in a brushed finish and marble. The visual contrast alone, but also the Italian excellence of the material quality, make it a true work of art.

Hankins & Associates, Inc. - Kitchens and BathsThis “Blue for You” kitchen is truly a cook’s kitchen with its 48” Wolf dual fuel range, steamer oven, ample 48” built-in refrigeration and drawer microwave. The 11-foot-high ceiling features a 12” lighted tray with crown molding. The 9’-6” high cabinetry, together with a 6” high crown finish neatly to the underside of the tray. The upper wall cabinets are 5-feet high x 13” deep, offering ample storage in this 324 square foot kitchen. The custom cabinetry painted the color of Benjamin Moore’s “Jamestown Blue” (HC-148) on the perimeter and “Hamilton Blue” (HC-191) on the island and Butler’s Pantry. The main sink is a cast iron Kohler farm sink, with a Kohler cast iron under mount prep sink in the (100” x 42”) island. While this kitchen features much storage with many cabinetry features, it’s complemented by the adjoining butler’s pantry that services the formal dining room. Krantz DesignsOur clients created a new glazed link between two parts of their home and wanted to relocate the kitchen within this space, integrating it with their existing dining area. It was important to them – and to us – that our design was in keeping with the period property, and the end result was magnificent fusion between old and new, creating a fluid link to the rest of their home.
The large breakfast bar was finished in solid American walnut and incorporated a bespoke pop-up gin bar, another playful touch. This makes for a stunning showpiece, a surprising feature that acts as a real talking point.
