Our classic Shaker kitchen in Clapham features a seek Neff induction hob, flush-fitted on the quartz worktop. The chimney is an existing feature in our client's house which was opened up to fit the hob and extractor. We dressed it with a mantle and added an antique mirror splashback (by DecoGlaze) to create a bright cooking niche.

Stunning basement cellar in the heart of Southsea, Hampshire. Beautiful use of the space underground and still capturing the courtyard garden within easy access of the kitchen and snug area. Remarkable that we are underground but the light still pours in from the open space outside. Perfect marriage of basement/cellar living, linked to outdoor life. Everything revolves around the 3.9m long island which allows you to cook and serve your guest and still be social, rather than cut off form the party. The island has vast storage on both sides of the island and includes, a pull-out bins system, drawers, wine cooler and enough seating for 6 people or just a romantic meal for two.

This long cabinet needed to serve as a China Hutch as well as functional storage. Because she wanted a fair amount of glass doors, I was concerned about a center section of solid doors. Instead, we chose to have them be glass as well and then line the inside with a linen fabric to conceal the contents. Within the glass door cabinets we opted to put a black and gold marble wallcovering on the backs, it lightened the interior a bit and added interest behind a lot of white and glassware. We changed the cabinetry hardware several times in this kitchen, all the same pulls on the white cabinets, knobs on the black doors, a different pull on the black lower drawers and a fourth unique pull on the center section of black cabinetry - all of which was Matte French Gold.

Working with our long standing property developer client, Beaufield Homes; KCA designed and installed the kitchen for this five bedroom, 3 story detached house backing onto open fields in Cobham. Situated on the ground floor of the house features this highly specified kitchen which is open plan to the dining and family areas, with large bi-fold doors leading onto the rear garden. The design includes contemporary Systemat furniture in Putty Concrete and Pearl Grey with Miele appliances. Silestone worktops in Snowy Ibiza and a mitered Silestone breakfast bar in Cemento Spa.

A large island is finished in graphite grey with the addition of brushed steel drawer units under the Gaggenau hob is central to the design. For many years our Creative Director had been dreaming of creating a unique, bespoke and uber cool street art kitchen. It quickly became apparent that the universe had aligned and the perfect opportunity to make her dream become a reality was right in front of her, she found herself surrounded by the most incredible, extensive and amazing street art collection. A cheeky grin appeared on Katies face and she knew exactly what was coming next. Billy the Kid...the much talked about, completely incognito, up and coming street artist, with comparisons to Banksy, was immediately hunted down on Instagram and together via his agents (Walton Fine Arts), in top secret fashion to keep his unknown identity a secret, they collaborated on fusing his bold, bright, personalized and original street art with the luxury Italian kitchen brand Pedini. The kitchen showcases a beautiful sultry, dark metallic door for depth and texture. Gaggenau Vario refrigeration and cooking appliances and a Quooker tap system in the stunning patinated brass finish. The island really was the focal point and practically gave the clients a central beautiful working space, Gold Mammorea quartz worktop with its beautiful veining encases the island worktop and sides then the absolutely stunning Fiore Dibosco marble table that is beautifully lit with hidden led channels, wraps the island corner with its gravity defying angled end panels. The unique and individual commissioned Billy the Kid art installation on the back of the island creates total wow factor, the artwork included very personal touches...the family’s names, the dog gets a mention too and positive words that sum up the love this family so evidently share. Even the 3 cherubs Billy created look uncannily like the client’s 3 children, a wonderful touch. This kitchen is a truly unique and stunningly original installation, we love that Billy the Kid jumped on board with the concept presented to him.

This Fisher & Paykel French door refrigerator freezer looks great with our Shaker cabinet doors and blends in seamlessly. How do I choose my kitchen units and cabinets?

Shaker style cabinets and raised and recessed panel cabinets offer a more traditional kitchen cabinet look, while flat panel cabinet doors tend to lend more to the modern and contemporary style. However, going for raised or recessed panel work in a striking colour such as dark blue, green or black can still work with contemporary kitchen ideas. White kitchens can give a sleek and clean feel, but remember you may have to do a bit more cleaning of those cupboard doors if you want everything to stay shiny and fresh. Of course, grey kitchens are the neutral colour choice du jour and can be paired with pale and rich shades alike if you want your fitted kitchen cupboards to contrast with your worktop, splashback, floor, or all of the above.
