Suspend your belief in good taste and just have fun, starting with the crazy color combination of purple, green and gold. Mardi Gras decor is affordable. Let me show you where to get some great stuff, and laissez les bon temps roulez (let the good time roll).

Breathe Design Studio
A transitional townhouse for a family with a touch of modern design and blue accents. When I start a project, I always ask a client to describe three words that they want to describe their home. In this instance, the owner asked for a modern, clean, and functional aesthetic that would be family-friendly, while also allowing him to entertain. We worked around the owner's artwork by Ryan Fugate in order to choose a neutral but also sophisticated palette of blues, greys, and green for the entire home. Metallic accents create a more modern feel that plays off of the hardware already in the home. The result is a comfortable and bright home where everyone can relax at the end of a long day.

Jane Gorman Decorators & Developers
Melbourne Interior Designer and Decorator Jane Gorman has recently completed this soft furnishings renovation project of a living room in Hawthorn. Jane’s clients engaged her to provide soft furnishings for their luxurious townhouse. A key aspect of this project for Jane was being able to listen to her clients as they were wanting to keep a few existing pieces of furniture. When designing the interior and exterior of a clients residential home, it is important to listen to their needs and their end goals. Jane was able to provide her clients with a design brief that allowed for a balance of new and existing pieces of furniture.
Out of the pieces that were designed and installed by Jane in this project, the Florence Sofa together with the customised Ottoman and two smaller square Ottomans were the feature. The soft grey colour palette of the couch and ottomans was chosen to tie in smoothly with the floor rug. This also provides linkage in the space. When designing interiors, it is important to provide flexibility and adaptability when interacting in the space. Jane’s clients are able to now use their space in various ways when entertaining. The use of ottomans in the space allows for them to be removed easily. This allows the space to be more open when entertaining guests. The wooden side tables complement the space by being discrete and having empathy for the clients existing wooden coffee tables.
