The kitchen was fitted as part of the new build construction. The splashback and breakfast bar were made out of a grey laminate wood that darkened the whole space. We replaced them both with an engineered quartz with gold veining to add an understated touch of luxury and fit in with the existing cabinets.
The new build kitchen /diner lacked storage and defined zones. The space isn't large so we created a banquette seating arrangement, re-using the existing chairs but sourcing a new extendable table for a versatile option. The banquette seating creates ample new storage thanks to side cabinets and lower drawers under the upholstered bench. New lights were also fitted as well as a bar area created in an unused alcove by the utility room. We added recessed LEDs to bring in more light and create a hushed mood.

In the heart of a modern cottage kitchen, elegance meets rustic charm with the stunning combination of white oak cabinets and a gleaming quartz countertop. As sunlight pours through the windows, it dances upon the smooth surface of the countertops, casting a radiant glow throughout the space. The pristine white oak cabinets, with their clean lines and timeless appeal, exude a sense of warmth and sophistication.
The white oak cabinets, meticulously crafted and finished to perfection, add a touch of natural beauty to the kitchen. Their light hue complements the airy ambiance of the cottage kitchen, creating a sense of openness and serenity. The wood's subtle grain patterns add depth and character to the space, infusing it with a sense of authenticity and charm.

The inspiration for this kitchen remodel came from the desire to create a space that was both modern and timeless. A place that a young family can raise their children and create memories that will last a lifetime.

They say that first impressions count. When three sibling homeowners visited the CRL Stone showroom for inspiration for their kitchen renovation and spotted CRL Quartz Palermo, there was an instant attraction. And now that the surface is fitted in the completed room, it’s the first thing people notice when they visit.
The project in question was a bungalow extension, with an open-plan kitchen diner. With the aim of creating a modern space that looked and felt bigger, the homeowners called in their son/nephew and owner of Jones Developments Ryan, to project manage the refurb. And the family affair didn’t stop there, with Ryan’s wife Demi on hand to help supply their dream kitchen through her role at Howdens Burnley, his in laws from Stewkley Stone recommending, supplying and fabricating the CRL Quartz surfaces and Ryan’s brother-in-laws Ewan & Harrison taking care of the installation.
Choosing a quartz surface was an important element of the design, with the homeowners keen to opt for a surface that worked well with the new furniture in Fairford Pebble. “The colours work perfectly together and the rusty orange veining adds an ideal colour to the kitchen to make it look very classy and elegant,” comments Ryan.
In fact, it was the colour of the veining that attracted the siblings to CRL Quartz Palermo as soon as they saw it. The crisp white background is the perfect backdrop for the bold veining, that adds instant character and an eye-catching level of detail. “It’s something of a marmite choice to many, but we’re so happy we went with it. Being able to vein match the surface just adds to the sense of flow within the large space. The result is a very modern looking kitchen, with lots of space and storage,” Ryan explains.
Easy on the eye, installation of the surfaces was straightforward too, with all the fabrication done in advance to ensure the perfect, seamless fit. Quartz is the perfect choice for a busy family life on a practical level too, being water, heat, scratch and stain resistant and with no requirement for sealing at any stage. Palermo’s bold marble-inspired veining lends itself so well to being vein matched that Stewkley Stone were only too happy to oblige, despite the request not being part of the original brief for the project.
“The finished look is very elegant and classy, with the colour of the kitchen doors perfectly complementing the veining of Palermo,” comments Ryan. With quirky features including a Quooker tap and pull-out accessories to future-proof the space, the comfort levels are high in the completed kitchen. But the homeowners’ favourite element of the new look? “100% the quartz; it’s the first thing you see when you enter the room,” concludes Ryan.

The homeowners of this wanted to create an informal year-round residence for their active family that reflected their love of the outdoors and time spent in ski and camping lodges. The result is a luxurious, yet understated, comfortable kitchen/dining area that exudes a feeling of warmth and relaxation. The open floor plan offers views throughout the first floor, while large picture windows integrate the outdoors and fill the space with light. A door to the three-season room offers easy access to an outdoor kitchen and living area. The dark wood floors, cabinets with natural wood grain, leathered stone counters, and coffered ceilings offer the ambiance of a 19th century mountain lodge, yet this is combined with painted wainscoting and woodwork to brighten and modernize the space. A blue center island in the kitchen adds a fun splash of color, while a gas fireplace and lit upper cabinets adds a cozy feeling. A separate butler’s pantry contains additional refrigeration, storage, and a wine cooler. Challenges included integrating the perimeter cabinetry into the crown moldings and coffered ceilings, so the lines of millwork are aligned through multiple living spaces. In particular, there is a structural steel column on the corner of the raised island around which oak millwork was wrapped to match the living room columns. Another challenge was concealing second floor plumbing in the beams of the coffered ceiling.

Designed by Catherine Neitzey of Reico Kitchen & Bath in Fredericksburg, VA in collaboration with Joe Cristifulli and Cristifulli Custom Homes, this kitchen remodeling project features a transitional modern cottage style inspired kitchen design with Merillat Masterpiece Cabinetry in the door style Martel in Maple with Painted Bonsai finish. The kitchen countertops are Emerstone Quartz Alabaster Gold with a Kohler Whitehaven sink.
“Being part of creating this warm, texture rich, open kitchen was such a pleasure. The artist homeowner had an amazing vision from the beginning to launch the design work,” said Cat.
“Starting with her watercolor thumbnails, we met repeatedly before the walls started coming out to set the floor plan. Working with a supportive general contractor, the space transformed from 1978 to a modern showplace with nods to craftsman cottage style.”
“The muted green tone is a great backdrop for the lake views the home offers. We settled on an island design, adding storage without taking wall space away. The homeowner took such care with each decision to pull off integration of fresh, clean, lined modern elements, mixed metals, reclaimed woods and antiques. The layered textures bringing warmth to the space is something I hope to take with me for future projects!”
In addition to the kitchen, the bathroom was remodeled as well. It includes a Merillat Classic vanity cabinet in the Glenrock door style with 5-piece drawer front in the Boardwalk finish and a Virginia Marble cultured marble wave bowl vanity top in the color Bright White.

Our studio reimagined this kitchen to make it suitable for entertaining family and friends. We altered the layout to an open-concept floor plan and changed the yellowish paint to a beautiful white, creating a bright, airy vibe. The elegant dark wood floors were retained, and complementary design elements were added to make the flooring pop. The stunning countertops perform a dual function as backsplash tiles, creating a harmonious ambiance in the space. We added gorgeous chairs and stylish pendants with a gold finish that adds a glamorous touch.
We carved a beautiful home bar in the space with open concept shelving and charcoal black lower cabinets for storage. The star feature in this area is the backsplash tile in geometric patterns, which add a sophisticated, luxe element.
