“Four years after completion and the house is still fantastic. The brief was to transform and extend an old house for modern living. After interviewing a short list of architects we chose Chris. The preliminary sketch he showed me with his ideas after his first visit to the site was replicated and enhanced in the final build. Every "annoying" trait of the old house has been eliminated and what we have now is a beautiful combination of an old and modern house which works well. The old part of the house is made of stone on the left and the new part of the house is glass and wood on the right. The large window area gives outstanding view over our wood which the previous old and small windows did not give. Chris also designed a free standing glass and wood studio which sits to the left of the house - again with outstanding views The team (builder RG Walker, Quantity Surveyor Tozer and Tozer and architect Fasciato) worked extremely well together to deliver a project that was on time, on budget and of outstanding quality. “We commissioned Unit 3 to carry out concept designs, detailed design and technical design stages for a two story rear extension in Cheshire. The design brief was to have a combined living/kitchen space, create an extra bedroom and enlarge the existing bedrooms and family bathroom whilst creating lots of natural light. Martin's talent was evident from the concept sketches, exploring options we hadn't thought possible. After listening to our "must haves" and getting to the bottom of our lifestyle and daily routine, we soon developed our perfect design together. The quality of work has been exceptional and unlike some of the other architects we approached, Martin was able to turns designs into reality via 3D generated images. He even created an augmented reality of our house! Martin's professionalism and dedication to our project has made the design stage a real success.
