“Pearl Schaar and David Pelletier provided us with a great experience from the initial top-level planning through the engineering review of our 4000+sq. ft. waterfront home on Camano Island. We worked together as a team, sometimes through a careful and deliberate process, other times through brainstorming and thinking out of the box to accomplish our end goals for our home. They guided and took direction from us as well. In retrospect, I believe the primary impact they had in providing the house we wanted was the education they provided regarding natural materials and flow. We learned and gained in the process.”

Martin took our ideas and some very site specific requirements and created a home that is so much more than we expected. Martin is friendly, professional and REALLY listens. The very first draft sketches proved that he understood what we wanted and needed. He worked with the county to meet all of the special requirements for building on a slope near water.”

“I was referred to Sounddesign Group by a friend and selected them after interviewing 3 architects. After the initial referral, I was attracted to SDG because of the variety of home design styles shown on their website. I didn't want my project to be pigeonholed as a "type". I wanted my design professional to be open-minded and easy to work with, and I definitely found that in Eric Terry. He is one of the most easy-going people I have ever worked with, but at the same time he gets things done. The process was simple and fun, and we got everything we wanted even though some of it required both Eric and our builder to think outside the box. It turned out to be a bit of a complicated project, but you never would have known it from Eric's attitude. His firm took everything in stride. We also utilized Sounddesign's interior design specialist, Kirsten, for some interior help. She was similarly delightful and easy to work with, even within my budget constraints and my desire to do most things on my own. The finished project is beautiful, and we had a great time during the design and build process. I cannot recommend these folks highly enough.”

“We would highly recommend Stig Carlson as an architect for your project because he listens to our ideas, he understands that this will be our home, not just his design. Stig has the unique ability to diffuse a situation where the individuals disagree on a particular issue, to move beyond this point until the two have had an opportunity to discuss their views and then later he will remember to readdress this issue. Stig manages to keep the project moving forward when dealing with county officials who give vague guidelines by requesting specific details of what they will and will not accept. He is an effective advocate for your project and provides an excellent set of drawings for you and your builder to help eliminate unexpected costly and time consuming change orders His kind and gentle manner is well suited for any client, yet strength and knowledge arm him for county regulatory rhetoric. “I found David Price by googling architects and looking for the houses I really liked in this area- it turned out he had worked on two of my favorites. I talked to him about my initial ideas, and he presented drawings I really liked, and then I started to tweak the plans. Working with David through the many iterations was always a positive experience. David designed the house and then I had it built from his plans. As soon as the house was framed, I started to get compliments on the lines of the building. Now that it is finished, it is beautiful, inside and out. Being able to work out custom plans and make all the needed adjustments means I ended up with a home perfectly suited to me.”
